Vice Chancellor of Uganda Christian University (UCU) Prof. Aaron Mushengyezi has released a memo to the entire student body detailing the institutions intended plan when Universities are allowed to reopen on 1st November 2021.
The VC revealed that students will be undergoing both online and physical learning in compliance with the Ministry of Health guidelines.
“Please note that while in person learning is commencing, we will still have a blended learning approach at UCU, with both face-to-face and online classes. This is to ensure that we comply with COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs),” the memo read in part.
Mushengyezi gave a brief on how different years of study shall report to campus and the timetable for their lectures and examinations.
Below are some of the announcements made by the UCU Vice Chancellor.
1. All Year One students admitted this Advent (September) Semester and have been studying online, will report for face-to-face classes on 1st November 2021. They will have additional orientation sessions during the week. They will then move to blended learning (in person and online classes) beginning 4th December 2021.
2. Continuing students who have been studying virtually will report on 8th November 2021 for face-to-face classes in a phased manner. Their semester examinations will begin on 4th December 2021 and end on 17th December 2021.
3. Examinations for new students admitted in Advent (September) 2021 Semester will be held from 3rd January 2022 to 17th January 2022
4. Faculty Deans and Heads of Department should prepare and issue timetables for teaching and examinations to all students in their Faculties.
Uganda Christian University will open its gates to allow students to undergo physical learning in a staggered manner come 1 November, 2021.
