Makerere University 72nd Grad Transcripts are ready – VC Nawangwe

Makerere University has revealed to the 2022 graduands that some transcripts for 72nd Graduation are ready for picking.

Speaking during the second session of the 72nd graduation ceremony held on 24th May 2022, Makerere University Vice-Chancellor Prof Barnabas Nawangwe explained that transcripts for graduands on four to five-year programs were ready and can be picked starting Monday, 30th May 2022.

Reportedly, all the transcripts of graduands in the latest cohort will be ready for collection in the second week of June 2022.

Nawangwe however explained that transcripts for graduands on three-year programs will be ready by the second week of June 2022. He also revealed that Masters certificates are ready and can be picked upon graduation.

The Vice-Chancellor encouraged students to clear all university dues in order to secure their transcripts in time.

According to Prof. Nawangwe, very few students have cleared, saying often, many of them want to clear only for graduation.

What you need to know…

The 72nd graduation ceremony that started on Monday, 23rd May will end on Friday, 27th May 2022 with a total of 12,474 graduands receiving various academic awards from the ivory tower.

Of these, 100 will graduate with PhDs, 1,236 with Masters degrees, 10,998 with Bachelor’s degrees, and 140 with undergraduate and postgraduate diplomas.

52 % of the graduands are female and 48 % are male.

Forty of the 100 PhD graduands and 492 of the 1,236 Masters graduands are female, representing 40% in each category.
