The new UNSA President asked the Government to always involve UNSA when implementing programs aimed to benefit students. The former Guild President of the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) Welunga Yusuf and all the new UNSA officials on Thursday, took oath of office as the President of Uganda National Students Association (UNSA) at Kololo SS. The new UNSA leadership was voted into power on 4th November 2021 during the 32nd UNSA NEC held in all regions of the country namely Northern, Southern, Western, Central, and Eastern Uganda. Other new UNSA officials are Julia Mahumuza (Vice President ) from Makerere University Business School, Roy Rugumayo (Secretary-General) from Makerere University, and Kenneth Agaba Mponda (Speaker) from Uganda Christian University among others Welunga asked the Government to always involve UNSA when implementing programs aimed to benefit students as soon as he swore in. “I urged my fellow NEC Members to effectively serve the students of the country and called upon the Government to work always involve us (UNSA) in its programs that do benefit the students of this country,” Welunga said. It should be noted that recently, a team of the newly elected UNSA Officials led by its President Welunga Yusuf was in South Sudan to deepen the relationship between students of Uganda and South Sudan. During their visit in South Sudan’s capital, Juba, the team discussed pertinent issues with senior Government officials aimed to benefit students of the two countries.
