Susan Kahunde crowned Miss Tourism 2021/22

Susan Kahunde is now set to represent Uganda at the Miss Tourism International finale in Malaysia in December this year.

Susan Kahunde was over the weekend crowned Miss Tourism Uganda 2021/22 in a scientific event at Serena Hotel Kampala.

Susan is a midwife hailing from the Tooro sub-region. She attained her certificate in midwifery from Tumu Medical Institute in Western Uganda.

Kahunde who took up modeling is now set to represent Uganda at the Miss Tourism International finale in Malaysia in December this year.

Susan Kahunde was pitted against 26 other contestants who she beat to claim the crown from former Miss Tourism Sonia Komugisha.

Among the other top three, Phiona Opia, also aged 22, finished as a first runner-up while Makerere University Business School’s 21-year-old Rashidah Namukwaya finished second runner-up.

According to Miss Tourism Beauty Pageant CEO Allan Kanyike, Kahunde took the slot due to her excellence during the Question and Answer (Q&A) session of the event where she impressed the judges.

However, due to financial constraints arising from lack of adequate sponsorship, the Miss Tourism pageant did not come with a prize car as has always been in the past.

To make up for this, Kanyike assured the media that Miss Tourism management will provide one to help the winner move around easily while executing her official duties.
