
Singer Pia Pounds was among the 529 students who walked away with degrees and diplomas during the International University of East Africa (IUEA) 8th graduation ceremony.
She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business administration in November last year (2021)
The Tupaate singer took to her social media saying she is a proud farmer minting millions of cash from Chicken and Turkey keeping.
The former Big Talent singer became more popular in the 2021 year following the smash hit. The singer dropped the Tupaate four-track EP the previous year but Ugandans started jamming to it fully in 2021.
Pounds says poultry is her side hustle and it’s one of those which keeps her moving alongside music.
The singer believes there is more to life than education and music thus falling in love with poultry farming as another source of income.
Other musicians doing farming include Mun G with a poultry farm and King Saha among others.

Pia Pounds career started in 2011 when she released her first single Just the way you are featuring Ragga Dee while still in secondary school. She took a hiatus in music and returned to finish high school. She returned to music while she was a sophomore student at university in 2017.
She was signed by Eddy Kenzo’s Big Talent Entertainment label in 2018. Under Big Talent, Pounds’ biggest releases were Tubawe and Wawangula.
She refused to renew her contract with the label and exited Big Talent Entertainment and started releasing her music as an independent artist in 2019.
She then released songs like Byompa featuring Fik Fameica, Easy, and Delicious.
In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic quarantine and lock-down around the world, Pounds released a love song titled Bintwala about missing the person she loves during the quarantine period.
