Jinja Youth send a petition to Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba to run for Presidency in 2026

Youths in Jinja took advantage of the Motor Sport Rally that was taking place in Iganga over the weekend to send a petition to first son General Muhoozi Kainerugaba to vie for Presidency in the 2026 General Elections.


The petition was sent to first son Muhoozi through his Uncle Michael Kaineruga a.k.a TOYOTA who was the chief guest at the weekend’s Motor Sport event that was organized by the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda – FMU.

While handing over the petition, the youths explained that they chose to petition Muhoozi to vie for President because he will carry forward the legacy of his Father H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and uphold the peace of the country and the whole East African region at large given his vast experience in security.

They also added that Muhoozi fully fits to be the next president because he is their fellow youth who will fully understand their needs and accord them the necessary solutions.

Muhoozi Kainerugaba Biography

Bborn 24 April 1974, He is a Ugandan lieutenant general who serves as the commander of the land forces of the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) and who was previously the commander of the Special Forces Command (SFC). Both the UPDF and the SFC are accused of using excessive force and abductions; Muhoozi and other senior officials are mentioned in an International Criminal Court complaint. In 2017 Muhoozi, the son of president Museveni was appointed Presidential Adviser, fueling speculations he is being prepared for the presidency. He was reappointed as the Commander of the elite Special Forces Command (SFC) in December 2020. Lt. Gen. Muhoozi served in the same position from 2008 to 2017.
