Racheal Mirembe sworn in as UCU’s 24th Guild President

Mirembe Racheal Sserwadda beat tight competition from Ayebare Phillip to become UCU’s 24th Guild President

Mirembe Racheal Sserwadda was elected the new Guild President of Uganda Christian University a week ago with a total number 1,507 votes which made a percentage of 55.45%.

She beat off her opponent Ayebare Phillip Bravo who put up a good fight and lost with 1,211 votes which make a percentage of 44.55%.

The Guild President-elect Mirembe Racheal Sserwadda and the 24th UCU Guild government have today taken respective oaths to serve the university community.

The student leaders were sworn in via community worship that happened at the main campus under the watch of UCU Vice-Chancellor, Prof Aaron Mushegyezi.

At the same event, induction for First-Year students was done, ushering the new souls into the university’s Christian aura with a vibrant service session.

New Guild President Rachael Mirembe will receive tools of service from Amponda Kenneth Agaba, the outgoing Guild President.

However, we have learned that the swearing-in of both the members of Parliament and President of UCU Kampala campus that was scheduled for 1st December 2021 was extended till further notice due to the presence of a petition challenging the recent elections that were held on 26th, November 2021.

Well, from all of us at Campus Trend, we say congratulations, Mirembe Racheal. We are looking forward to your leadership.
