Dissatisfied Makerere University NUP members cry to Bobi Wine over controversial Guild Delegates List

Dissatisfied NUP supporters at Makerere University have decried the lack of transparency in the vetting of guild delegates.

Dissatisfied supporters of the National Unity Platform(NUP) at Makerere University have called out to the Party President Bobiwine expressing their discontent with the recently released party delegates list.

The list which was released recently amidst heavy contention caused an uproar among several guild aspirants and supporters concerning the manner in which the vetting process was carried out.

The delegates were selected by the ad-hoc committee through a pain-staking 7 hour- a process which came up with over 50 delegates who will be in charge of choosing the Party’s representative for the forthcoming 87th Guild race.

In a letter to the ad-hoc committee with carbon copies sent to Bobi Wine, the National Party President, Musiri David, the Head of Institutions NUP, and the Makerere NUP chapter President, the supporters expressed their concerns. The letter decried how the ad-hoc committee was formed and the vetting criteria for the vetting process among others.

Whether Bobiwine has read the letter or not has not been ascertained, but no response has been made to the new developments.

Makerere University remains one of National Unity Platform’s major strongholds when it comes to student politics and national politics in general.

Below is a copy of the letter:
