This year’s edition will run under the theme, “Crisis and Opportunity: Mapping the Geopolitical Importance of Africa” and will take place from 10th to 12th November 2021 in a hybrid format with physical sessions taking place live from the Makerere University Auditorium and virtually on twitter spaces.

The conference aims to give room for global-shapersissued from the national, regional and international levels, to share their expertise and to make their voice heard regarding the pressing issues our society and our planet are facing.

According to the French Embassay in Uganda, the 4th edition of Kampala Geopolitics conference will give room for sport as a soft power tool through the study case of Olympics and Paralympics.

It will also have the opportunity to discuss the development of a new Africa-European Union relationship within the framework of the post-Cotonou agreement signed last April.

The Kampala Geopolitics Conference will adopt a new format of distribution through Twitter Space. The use of Twitter space aims to promote local and international involvement of the public. This is in hopes that this solution will enable a better inclusion of the youth, to incite them to think and to engage.
