No COVID-19 Vaccination Card, No Entry – IUIU Warns Students Ahead Of Campus Reopening

IUIU has implored students to endeavour to take the COVID-19 jab saying it will be a precondition for them to be allowed on campus.

Islamic University In Uganda has implored students to endeavoUr to take the COVID-19 jab saying it will be a precondition for them to be allowed on campus.

According to the Office of the Academic Registrar at Islamic University In Uganda, students shall be required to show their vaccination cards when they reach campus. In addition, they will be required to adhere cautiously to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as set by the Ministry of Health when the University finally re-opens for physical learning next month.

“You will be expected to report at your respective campuses from 8:00 am -5:00 pm on 1st November 2021. Kindly, take note that you will be required to adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) put in place by the Ministry of Health and the National Council for Higher Education against the spread of COVID-19,” reads a statement issued by the academic registry’s office.

The students will be required to wear their face masks while in public spaces, wash their hands regularly, undergo mandatory temperature monitoring, and observe social distancing in lecture halls and other learning spaces.

The University shall ensure that all the requirements for access to the campus are adhered to before a student can be allowed on University grounds.

“There will be a University COVID-19 Task Force led orientation on COVID-19 Management and prevention measures on reporting which is compulsory for all students to attend, and you will also be issued with other university-specific guidelines for use of different facilities at the university,” reads a statement.

These standards shall be enforced in all the IUIU campuses which include the Main Campus in Mbale, Kampala Campus in Kampala, Females’ Campus in Wakiso, and Arua Campus in Arua.
