This year’s election will be carried out both online and physical. This is aimed at observing the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with regards to the spread of COVID-19 as set by the Ministry of Health (MoH).
The online version of the elections will be tested for efficiency on 4th November ahead of the final election on 12th November 2021. This is to make sure that the system is ready for implementation on the D-day.
Ssempijja Ivan, who is the current Guild President, performed marvelously at the previous guild elections, to become Makerere’s 86th guild president after a three day campaign run that was demmed by many to have been ill prepared.
