
Charity Bongomin was crowned the first-ever winner of the Miss Uganda Christian University (UCU) pageant competitions beating other 35 contestants. Out of the applicants, 11 failed to meet the prerequisites while the rest who appeared before the six (6) member panel fell below the standards.
Bongomin is set to represent UCU at the Miss University Uganda competitions and later at the Miss University Africa (MUA) pageant. MUA is an annual international beauty pageant organized by Visions, Innovations, and Concept
Speaking to the media, Bongomin expressed excitement saying she is ready to represent UCU and Uganda. Bongomin believes that the support exhibited by her friends and the 24th Guild will continue to inspire her to higher heights. “I will do all within my powers to market the University by giving myself an epitome example of the products that the university produces. I became what I’m because of my university. I will intentionally represent UCU,” Charity Bongomin said.




Rachel Mirembe Sserwadda, the 24th Guild President of UCU had pledged to support Bongomin so as to shoot highest in the competitions. Without mentioning the exact support, Sserwadda said would facilitate Bongomin spiritually, financially, and mentally.
“Count on the guild for all kinds of support. I can assure you that the 24th guild has your back. Good luck wishes,” Sserwadda said.
The pageant was first held in 2010 the competition is aimed at raising a ‘true African beautiful, elegant and intelligent queen that would stand tall on the African walkway with the heels of confidence, a fearless face, and an audible voice to challenge the negativity that has been attached to the black skin over the years.
