Guild President, Abaho Wilson Mugisha of Bishop Stuart University Mbarara, was arrested following his involvement in a nasty accident that claimed one person.
It is alleged that Mr. Abaho was seeking a compensation deal with the family of the deceased to avoid the involvement of security forces. However, due to disagreements along the way, Police got to learn about the incident, which led to his arrest.
Over 30 more students have been arrested following his arrest in the last 3 days. The arrests arose after a section of the Guild President’s Ministers and some students decided to cause unrest in protest of Abaho’s arrest prompting Police to arrest them for inciting violence.
Among those who were arrested include the Guild president Abaho Wilson Mugisha, some of his cabinet ministers, GRCs and the students all who are detained at Mbarara Central Police station.
Others who are still in police custody include two guild presidential aspirants, Guild Ministers, and the students.
